Williamson's (Welsh) Row
As the mining industry grew in the 1830's and 40's miners from other parts of the country like Durham,orthumberland and Wales settled here. It was because of this influx of workers that a row of some 25 brick terraced houses were built just up the road from Tower hill Colliery, it was called Welsh Row.
