William Edward Taylor (b. 1887 at Biddulph) was the youngest of eight children of Edward Joseph Taylor and his wife Ann (nee Bennett) who lived at Lion Cottage in the early 1900s (see old maps 1920/1950) He was a "pupil teacher" at Woodcocks' Well School, then in 1903 went to Bede College Durham and later became a schoolmaster in Manchester Picture and subject by kind permission of Mr Ian Taylor |
