1809 - Hugh Henshall Williamson granted lease to build rail road from Falls Colliery

1823 - Ann, Hugh Henshall and Robert Williamson aquire the lease for Astbury Limeworks for 14 yrs

1832 - Robert Willaimson aquires lease for Stone Trough Colliery and Towerhill Farm (Williamson's or Welsh Row was built)

1838 - Robert Williamson granted lease for Stonetrough colliery Railway

1856 - Hugh Henshall and Robert Williamson aquire the lease for Astbury Limeworks

As you can see Mow Cop and the surrounding area have been heavily developed by the Williamson family, their legacy covers 80 years when in 1887 Robert Heath from Biddulph aquired Stonetrough.
