Inghams

This photo was taken outside Doris Inghams shop circa 1959, Ingham's like so many shops sold just about everything, back in a time when small corner shops thrived and provided everyones needs localy. (Scroll down to see inside) The shop was at the top of Church Lane, near St.Thomas Church. There were three in this row, two houses and the middle building was a house. The other shop was Eardleys.

The young girl is Kath O'Donell (nee Chisnall) from Wigan, Kath would visit with her Mum and Dad, and would help out in the shop serving while her Dad did odd jobs.
